This is the land of Rip van Winkle, the historic Hudson River, and the majestic Scenic Catskill Mountains. This area has been the inspiration for famous authors, artists, historians, ecologists and such. Today, you will still find these inspirations. In the 1600’s the Dutch settled here and established a settlement that is called the Bronck Farm and Museum. The name Bronck is the same name that became the Bronx, a major county that makes up New York City. At the Bronck Historic site you will see Dutch architecture in the homestead museum and the out buildings such as a barn structure know as the Freedom Barn it is a thirteen.
